At Colaneri Estate Winery, they have a passion for producing premium wines that keep the tradition alive but also embrace new-world techniques. Colaneri is a family-owned winery that hand-harvests grapes to produce premium VQA award-winning wines from its surrounding vineyards. Most of the red, white, and dessert wines are made in the traditional Italian Appassimento method of drying grapes. Their large portfolio of wines includes Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto styles.
It is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's founding family wineries, founded in 1982 by Ewald Reif and later acquired by nephew Klaus W. Reif. Today, Reif Estate Winery produces wines from its vineyard, which was first planted in 1977. The 125-acre farm is located in the Niagara River sub-appellation, where sun-loving grape varieties grow best.
